From the excavation of 150 Olympic-sized pools of material to 13-hour concrete pours, the scope and scale of building the new hospital are HUGE. See what it takes to bring the new St. Paul’s Hospital to life:

Watch to see what it takes to build BC’s largest ever hospital redevelopment project.

Many of the workers were born at St. Paul’s Hospital, have family members saved by staff at the hospital, or have family members who work there.

Inside the new St. Paul’s Hospital

Modern, private, single  inpatient rooms are coming to the new St. Paul’s Hospital. Take a look inside:

Person-centred design and integrated technology will help improve the patient experience during their stay.

In critical care, treatment is provided to patients who are the most critically ill. At the new hospital, patients will have their own room to improve infection control and provide patients and families with a more comfortable experience.

The new hospital will have 54 per cent more critical care capacity.

In the neighbourhood

Our new St. Paul’s Hospital project and recruitment teams had a great time at the Celebrate Strathcona community event earlier this month. We were thrilled to chat with so many neighbours and answer questions about the brand new hospital and health campus and the many rewarding career opportunities available at Providence.

If you know of any local events we should attend, reach out at thenewstpauls@providencehealth.bc.ca. We love meeting local community members!
