Our campus
A bold vision to help transform the future of health care for people living in BC and Canada

Campus of care
The Jim Pattison Medical Campus is Providence Health Care’s most significant project in our 130-year history. The campus features the new St. Paul’s Hospital which opens in 2027, and the Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC) which is anticipated to open in 2029.
The new St. Paul’s Hospital will lead in the delivery of B.C.’s patient-centred model of health care by providing the highest-quality, integrated, compassionate care, where and when it’s needed most.
Research and teaching will be highly integrated throughout the campus at our heath innovation hub, the Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC), enabling our world-class care providers and researchers to work side-by-side to bring medical breakthroughs to our patients at the bedside and in the community faster than ever before.
The new campus will draw on Providence's lengthy history of delivering integrated, seamless, patient-centred compassionate care to all.
Right care, right place, right time
The new hospital and health campus will offer an integrated care model by blending hospital-based services with a number of primary care and community health services and support programs, both on the new campus and in the broader community, in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health and other providers.
The new hospital will continue its tradition of helping the most vulnerable people in our communities: those with HIV/AIDS, those suffering from mental health, substance use and other complex urban health issues, the elderly and people with chronic illness, and critically ill British Columbians with heart, lung and kidney conditions.
Opportunities for expansion
Our new campus is located in Vancouver's False Creek Flats, about 3 km away from the current hospital on Burrard Street. It is bordered by Station Street, Prior Street, Trillium Park and National Avenue.
The campus sits on an 18.4-acre site, about the size of 15 football fields. This size allows for future expansion as health care needs evolve. Other possible future developments may include an Indigenous Wellness and Welcoming Centre, office space, a residential building, and life sciences buildings.
